Day 01: Delhi
Arrive Delhi, transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
Visit Old Delhi : Visit Jama Mosque (1650 A.D) and drive through fabled Chandni Chowk (Moonlight Square), the main area of the old city. Visit the Red Fort (1639-48 A.D),built by the builder of the Taj Mahal – Shah Jehan and famous for its delicately carved, inlaid and marbled Royal Chambers.
Raj Ghat – where the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi was cremated (1948 A.D) . VisitNew Delhi : Visit Humayun’s Tomb (1565 A.D) aptly called the redecessor of Taj Mahal. Drive past Safdarjang’s Tomb (1753 A.D), and visit the Qutub Minar – 72 meters high and one of the prefect towers of the Persian World.
Day 03: Delhi / Leh (Flight)
Early morning transfer to airport for flight to Leh. On arrival transfer to hotel.Rest of the day free for acclimatization of high altitude (3500 M) and low oxygen levels in Leh.Dinner and overnight in hotel in Leh.
Day 04: Leh
Leh Morning sightseeing of Spituk and Phyang monasteries.After lunch visit Leh monastery, Leh palace and Leh Bazaar.Dinner and overnight in hotel in Leh.
Day 05: Leh
Leh Morning proceed for sightseeing of Shey, old summer palace with 12 feet statue of Buddha: Thikse, the superbly situated Monastery on a hilltop overlooking the village and the indus river and Hemis Monastery the richest and the largest Monastery of the area. Afternoon return to Leh.Dinner and overnight in hotel in Leh.
Day 06: Leh – Uleytokpo (66 kms / 1.5 hrs approx)
After breakfast leave for Uleytokpo, enroute visit Likir gompa. Lunch at camp. Pm: Visit Alchi gompa and village. Dinner and overnight at camp in Uleytokpo.
Day 07: Uleytokpo – Lamayuru – Leh
After early breakfast leave for Lamayuru (62 kms / 2 hrs approx) with box lunch. Visit Lamayuru gompa and retrace the route back to Leh (128 kms / 4 hrs approx). Dinner and overnight in Hotel in Leh.
Day 08: Leh – Nubra Valley via Khardung-la
Early morning drive from Leh to Nubra (6 hrs. Drive approx). The Nubra valley lies in the north of Leh and is accessible over the Khardungla (5570 M) – The highest mortorable road in the world. The valley is on trade route from Leh to Kyagar via Saser and Karakoram passes. Apart from unparalleled trekking opportunities the valley houses several Monasteries such as sumur (khagar) and 350 years old Dikshit Gompa, famous for its Murals.From Khardungla Drive to village of Khardung and through starkly beautiful country side to the TCP at khalsar where permits have to be registered/checked. Arrive at Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 09: Nubra
Visit sumur, Kyagar, Panamik hot water spring, Samasthanling, Tirith and surroundings.
Day 10: Leh
After breakfast leave for Sabu to watch Oricle. Return to Leh Rest day free Dinner and overnight in Hotel in Leh.
Day 11: Leh – Delhi -Onward destination
Early morning after breakfast transfer to airport for flight back to Delhi to connect flight onward destination.
